Scenes of Cylburn outdoors allow us to appreciate
the grand setting enhanced by gardens, windowboxes and lavish
plantings.
The Sharf sketch (right) includes a building reputed to be a
plant conservatory behind the mansion. It is thought to have
been destroyed by fire.

A newspaper article of uncertain date,
perhaps between 1906 when Jesse Tyson died and 1910 when Mrs.
Tyson was managing her lavish mansion by herself and finding it
necessary to reduce her expenses. If anyone knows anything about
this extension of coal's efficincy, we would like to know more
about it. |
