Volunteer Opportunity for Collections Care:
Cylburn Arboretum Association

 

Volunteer Opportunity 
Goal of Position: Care for the woody plant collections on the Arboretum grounds. 


Sample Activities:

 

- Identify and label woody plants with appropriate tags

- Help keep documentation of collections up to date

- Provide maintenance care of collections on a routine basis (mulching, weeding, pruning, vine removal, etc.)

 

Timeframe: 
Number of Volunteers: Open
Length of Commitment: Year-round
Estimated Total Hours: 2-3 per week

Worksite: Cylburn Mansion 
Qualifications Sought:

 

- Some gardening / horticultural knowledge

- Experience in woody plant identification, or willingness to learn

- Organizational and critical thinking skills, and logical thought processes

- Must be methodical and pay close attention to details
