The Cylburn Nature Museum

:

Saturday, noon to 4PM

Sunday, noon to 4PM

A weekday will be added in later spring 2011

Frequency is flexible, but commitment to a schedule is required

Be an ambassador for Cylburn and the natural world!

As a host in Cylburn's Nature Museum, you can introduce visitors of all ages to the museum's collections! Guide visitors through the exhibits of over 250 Maryland birds (including a rare display of bald eagles),nests and eggs, skulls, butterflies and moths, rocks and minerals, fossils and seashells, and habitat dioramas.  Hands-on learning materials and a library are available for visitors as well.

In addition, volunteers also host school groups who have scheduled visits by appointment on weekdays.

No experience with environmental education is required - a one-day training session will be provided on a flexible schedule by Cylburn's Education Committee. Ongoing support is offered by the Committee and by the Baltimore Bird Club.

We ask that volunteers commit to a routine, dependable schedule to be able to maintain the advertised museum hours. Volunteering to host school groups can be schedule in advance to meet individual availability.

To volunteer, complete a volunteer application form (available online) or contact Karen Goldstein, Volunteer Coordinator, at 410-367-2217 or karen.goldstein@cylburnassociation.org.
