Position Description


Volunteer Opportunity
Goal of Position: Care for the woody plant collections on the Arboretum grounds.
Sample Activities:

  • Identify and label woody plants with appropriate tags
  • Help keep documentation of collections up to date
  • Provide maintenance care of collections on a routine basis (mulching, weeding, pruning, vine removal, etc.)

Timeframe:
Number of Volunteers: Open
Length of Commitment: Year-round
Estimated Total Hours: 2-3 per week

Worksite: Cylburn Mansion
Qualifications Sought:

  • Some gardening / horticultural knowledge
  • Experience in woody plant identification, or willingness to learn
  • Organizational and critical thinking skills, and logical thought processes
  • Must be methodical and pay close attention to details
